Frequently Asked Questions

 Where are you based?

All sessions are currently via video appointments through Zoom.

What happens in the first session?

Before our first session, I offer a free 15-minute consultation over the phone where you can ask any questions you might have, and we can discuss whether an initial assessment with myself feels right for you. If you decide to go ahead with an assessment, we will arrange a 50-minute online video consultation where we can think together about why you might be struggling at this time and what some ways forward might be. At the end of the consultation we can decide together what the best way forward is for you at this time. One outcome might be to continue with therapy ,however there is no obligation to do so.  I have listed a range of resources in the resource section which you may want also want to explore.

How much do you charge?

I offer a free 15-minute initial consultation via telephone. Subsequent sessions are charged at £125 per 50 minutes for people who self-refer.  I ask that fees be paid 72 hours prior to the session.

Are our sessions confidential?

Our sessions are confidential. There are occasional exceptions to this, for example, if I am concerned that you or someone else is at risk . In these circumstances I have a duty of care to break confidentiality and share my concerns with an appropriate professional however I will always endeavour to discuss this with you first.

Can I bring my baby?

Your baby is very welcome to attend sessions with you.

What if I need to cancel a session?

If you need to cancel a session there will be no charge as long as you can give me 48hours notice of the cancellation. Appointments that are cancelled with less than 48hours notice are charged at the full rate. This is because it is not possible to fill this appointment slot at such short notice. You can email me on katie@jsk.health
